Precision Turbo Customers Win Big at NMRA, NOPI, NHRA, and ORSCA 07-17-2007 |
|
Precision Turbo customers really turned up the heat of the opposition in the month of June. At the NMRA Milan event, Precision Turbo customers once again showed their dominance in the Drag Radial class. In the third round of qualifying, NMRA held the Reynolds, Georgia continuation race and Chris Tuten took out last years Drag Radial champion John Kolivas in the finals. Tuten went on to win the Milan, Michigan final with an 8.21 @ 174 to defeat fellow Precision Turbo customer Kevin Fiscus, who ran 8.82 @ 173. In NMRA Outlaw 10.5W action, Brian Carpenter found his way back to the winners circle with a 7.17 @ 206mph in the finals against Greg Blevins. The Truck and
Lightning class saw Johnny Lightning's twin turbocharged beast get a runner-
up finish with an 8.92 @ 135mph.
NHRA Sport Compact Pro RWD points leader Brad Personett decided to
stay a little closer to home and mix it up with some domestics at the NOPI
NDRA event in St. Louis, Missouri. Personett piloted the Titan Motorsports
Scion, which features Precision Boosted Technology, through the field to take
the Pro Class win with a 6.448 @ 217.67. Dan Saitz was on hand with his
beautiful 2007 Mustang. He proceeded to take the number four Qualifying
position, with a mind boggling 220.80MPH. In Pro Outlaw RWD, Dan Millen
got the win light with a 7.045 @ 211.13, helping to secure the lead in the points
standings. In the Pro 4 cylinder class, Joe Demaree got back to his winning
ways running 8.930 @ 165.66 to take the win in his Honda Civic.
Fifteen hours away, Precision Turbo customers were flexing their muscles at
the NHRA Northeast Sport Compact Nationals event in Atco, NJ. The
Hotrod class saw Stephanie Eggum take home her 2nd win with her 2000
Honda Civic. Running one of Precision’s new Boosted turbochargers, along
with a Big Stuff 3 powertrain management system, proved to give Eggum
Racing the necessary power to beat Kenny Tran. Ken Scheepers put the win-
light on in the Modified Class, running 7.414 @ 177.93, while last year's champ Paul Efantis runner-up’d with a 8.205 @141.73. In Pro FWD action,
Gary Gardella was the runner-up with a 7.491 @ 193.10. Darin Dichiara
found himself in yet another final in Sport RWD, but fell a little bit short
running a 9.853 to a 9.467.
The ORSCA event held in Montgomery, Alabama had the Outlaw 10.5W
runner-up spot won by Todd Moyer in his gorgeous third generation Camaro
with a 4.936@157.09. The Limited Street class was won by Carlton
Thompson, with a 5.299 @ 146.91. Shane Stack took the runner-up spot in the
EZ Street class, posting a 5.382@145.70.
