intercoolerPrecision Intercoolers

If you want to make power, then you're going to need a good intercooler. The purpose of an intercooler is to increase combustion efficiency. The amount of density regained depends on ambient air temperature, efficiency of the turbo compressor and cooling capacity of the intercooler. Intercooling also raises the detonation threshold so an engine can run more boost.

Precision's intercoolers use bar and plate construction, so the intercooler acts as a heat sink, which is especially beneficial in stop-and-go traffic. This design is also less susceptible to damage, especially when used in front mount locations. Bar and plate construction also allows higher boost loads and offers a wide range of design flexibility. The cooling properties of an intercooler are determinded by surface area and thickness. More surface area provides greater cooling power than a thicker core.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:

  • Precision offers popular sized intercoolers with cast end tanks or custom sized applications with sheet metal tanks.
  • High Density Garrett cores offer superior heat transfer enhanced cooling.
  • All intercoolers include end tabs for ease in installation. AIC-600 & AIC-750 also include drilled and tapped mounting holes.
